It had been a long evening.
The gym which had looked passable at the beginning of the night looked tacky with the lights switched on as everybody started to leave. Of course the night wasn't over yet for the teenagers, far from it but even so a few of them didn't want to leave yet as the photographer went around and took a few more shots.
In front of the buffet table Finn Hudson sat slumped, head in his hands as he stared glumly down at his feet. He'd been dumped by Rachel Berry earlier that night, she had made a big scene out of it in the middle of the dancefloor. Everyone had heard as she screamed at him for not caring enough about her and for just talking about someone else all night. No one apart from Finn had cared as she had stormed off, everyone just wanted to know who exactly it was Finn had been talking about. They'd bugged him about it at first different people asking him bluntly or more subtly only to never get an answer. He'd been left alone since.
Apparently he wasn't going to be alone all night though.
The footsteps were quiet as Kurt Hummel walked over and sat primly next to the taller male.
"You okay?" Kurt asked as he looked at the miserable jock with a small frown on his face. He hated to see Finn like this, even if he'd been a bit of a jerk lately he was still important to the soprano. Finn looked up from his hands and at Kurt as he slowly sat up properly again,
"What does it look like?" he answered gloomily.
Kurt rolled his eyes, crossing one leg over the other as he shifted the small top hat on his head slightly.
"It looks to me as if you're feeling sorry for yourself when you should be having a good time," he answered dryly. Finn snorted and Kurt rolled his eyes once again,
"If you really were talking about someone else all night as Rachel accused you should be relieved. At least you can spend the rest of the evening with them rather then talking about them to Rachel," he said.
His words seemed to actually hit something in Finn then who straightened up and turned to Kurt, brow furrowed as if he was trying to work something out.
"But that person came with someone else," he said slowly and the soprano sighed. He pulled the hat off of his head and placed it carefully on the jock's head instead.
"Then you should still try and win them over," he replied as he fiddled about with the accessory carefully. He smiled softly when he got it in the right place,
"And there you look dashing enough to win anyone over now."
For a few seconds Finn was still blinking at Kurt but then he swooped in and pressed his lips gently against his. His lips trembled slightly as he pulled away slowly, looking nervous at Kurt under half-lidded eyes.
"Was...was that okay?" he asked as Kurt just stared at him for a few seconds. The shock soon gave way to a blindingly brilliant smile as he nodded eagerly though.
"Yes. I believe it was."
As they leaned in to kiss again, the photographer snapped a picture of them together but neither male could find it in them to be bothered.
